  • Signup Anytime and Internet Explorer 6

With it's most recent release, the Signup Anytime Administrator tool will no longer support Internet Explorer version 6.  Specifically, some of the reporting tools may offer less functionality in IE6.  In order to provide the best and most flexible interface to our users, we've implemented some AJAX techniques that simply aren't supported in Internet Explorer 6, a browser that was first released nearly 8 years ago.

Please note that the front-end user registration process will still fully support Internet Explorer 6, as well as many other older browsers on the market.

    New Features
It’s been an exciting past few months at Signup Anytime. After great feedback from many of you, we’ve released several new features in the past few weeks that will make setting up and registering your events even simpler:

    1. Age Limits – We added an Age Limits tab to the event screen.  When setting up your event, you can specify a cutoff date, minimum age, and maximum age. This will ensure that all registrants meet these criteria before they can register for your event. For more details on how this works, see the Signup Anytime blog.
    2. Manual Registration – In order to support accepting credit cards, discounts, multiple registrations, and more, we’ve decided to re-do how manual (admin) registration works.  You’ll now follow a process that is more similar to the way users register on the “front end”.  On the checkout screen, you can pay by credit card, or “admin pay”.  On the reporting side, you’ll still be able to view registration details on one page, as well as make changes, apply payments, and change statuses.
    3. What’s New?  This feature appears on your administrator dashboard, on the right side, next to your registration totals.  These news articles will be published on a regular basis, and will include tips and tricks, answers to frequently asked questions, as well as general Signup Anytime news.
Keep an eye on all our new features by visiting the Signup Anytime blog, or on your administrator dashboard.

    League Management – Coming Soon!
We are currently beta testing a new League Management feature with several of our associations.  Current features include: season, league, team, and game management as well as schedules and standings. Upcoming features will be: roster management, background checks, event management, draft modules, coach and player communication, and many more.

If you’re interested in joining the beta test, please contact Steve Taylor at (678) 368-4667.  We’re planning to provide this tool in a general release for our sports league customers in the second quarter of 2009.

    Signup Anytime Community
In addition to all the new features and enhancements, we’ve also created a new Signup Anytime community site.  This site will host a variety of resources to help you create and maintain events and registrations and help you run your organization, association, or league.

Additionally, you’ll be able to contribute and build this community.  Many thousands of people are involved with youth sports associations – that collective knowledge is a valuable resource that will allow you to share with the community.  This tool will enable you to build better, more efficient, and more enjoyable experiences organizing, mentoring, and coaching.

To get started, create an account, and then visit any of our forums or blogs.

We’ll also provide customer support and FAQ in the Support Forums, free of charge, as always.

    Referral Credits
Have you enjoyed the ease of use, simple and affordable pricing, and wealth of features that Signup Anytime has provided?  If so, please consider letting your colleagues know about us.  If your referral generates a paid customer, you’ll get a 25 registration credit on your next invoice!

Thank you for being a part of Signup Anytime!  As always, we'd love to hear from you.  You can either leave feedback in our forums, or write to us at info@signupanytime.com

  • Free Emails!

Here at Signup Anytime, we partner with one of the best Email Service Providers in the business.  This means that your email communications (when sent through our system) are more likely to be delivered to your registrants because they are less likely to be flagged by internet service providers as spam.  They also provide unsubscribe links (a legal requirement under CAN-SPAM), email deliverability tracking, clickthrough tracking, and many other benefits.  All these features are invaluable to you, but do incur a cost - anywhere from 1 to 2 cents per email address per send. In the past we have tried to manage this by allowing 4 email "credits" per completed registration for your account.

In an effort to simplify our billing and provide better value to our customers, we've decided to make emails free and virtually unlimited.  Under this new model, you'll be able to send up to 10,000 emails per month, completely free

Remember, if you are a non-profit (registered 501(c)3) organization, you can help us by providing your non-profit details (typically the name you registered under with the IRS).  This allows us to obtain more favorable pricing from our email partner, and will enable us to continue to provide free emails in the future.

  • Easier Age Limits

Based on feedback from many of our users, we changed the way age limitations work for your events.  Thanks to everyone for helping make Signup Anytime better!  Here's how it works:

If you open your event (or create a new one), you'll notice a new "Age Limits" tab.

    Age Limit Tab

After opening the tab, you'll see 3 new fields.

    Age Limit Configuration

The cutoff date is the date you want to use in calculating your registrants' ages.  The minimum age is how young someone can be to register for this event.  The maximum is how old they can be (it includes the maximum).  For example, entering a cutoff date of 1/1/2009 and a minimum age of 10 and a maximum age of 12 will ensure that all registrants will be 10, 11, or 12 years old on January 1st, 2009.  If you do not specify a cutoff date, no age restriction will be required.  You may specify a minimum age, but no maximum, or vice versa.  This will allow registrants to play up (or down).

Registrants on your site will not be allowed to register if they do not meet the qualifications. In addition, if you have more than one event with age restrictions, registrants will be allowed to enter their birth date before registering.  After doing so, only events for which they meet the age criteria will be displayed.
